DOI: 10.1177/0730888496023003005 Occupational Sex Segregation in Sweden, 1968-1991Stockholm University This article addresses trends in the level of occupational sex segregation in Sweden between 1968 and 1991. During this period, the sex composition as well as the structure of the labor market has changed considerably. For instance, today, the labor market comprises a large female-dominated public sector. This study demonstrates a fall in the level of occupational sex segregation in the labor market, in spite of the expansion of traditional female jobs in the public sector (Data are from the Swedish Level of Living Surveys conducted in 1968, 1981 and, 1991).
